Original, 2-color linocut by artist Jim Pollock. This poster is the third in a series of prints showcasing environmental and political issues of importance to the artist, printed on 25% hemp-content paper. Proceeds went to benefit the Center for Constitutional Rights. Per a brief excerpt taken from Jim's website, the content of this piece is based on real events occurring in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria: "Oil was discovered by Shell in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria in 1958. Nine hundred million barrels of oil with an estimated value of 30 billion US dollars have been mined from that area since then. In those three decades of oil exploration, it has been alleged that Shell Oil Company has decimated fertile farmlands and poisoned bountiful fishing grounds. The inhabitants of this area are known as the Ogoni people”. Stored flat since it was purchased new in 2001, this poster is in As-New condition, and has been in the possession of only one smoke-free owner.
